Hi all,

Sorry to flog a dead horse but this issue just arose for me. We did a move with a carrier last year. Invoice submitted to us was from the factoring company. We did another one this year and were billed directly by the carrier....so.....I assume based on the above that because we had prior knowledge of the factoring company we can't pay the carrier directly on this new one since we knew about the one from last year unless we have a release letter from said factoring company...correct?

Yourare correct - carrier needs to supply you with a release letter or failing that, do a PPSA search, see who has a security interest, and deduct the cost from their invoice (cost is under $60)
